Taking on a Free Offer

People often say that the best things in life are free, but I’m not sure if that saying should apply to everything. When I received an invitation for a Sports Clips free haircut, I was a little reluctant to accept it. A friend of mine had received a free haircut from another barber a couple of years ago, and the barber gave him the worst haircut ever. It was pretty funny to me as an observer, but my friend didn’t think it was so funny. He was so mad that he wanted to sue the barber, but I talked him out of it.

I decided not to let my friend’s haircut experience sour mine. I needed a haircut and Sports Clips had a pretty good reputation, so I didn’t have too much to worry about. If the haircut went bad, I could always shave my head to a military style cut and wear that for a while. The hair will grow back anyway. I sat in the barber chair and told him how I wanted my haircut. I wear my hair in a pretty common hairstyle for men my age. Not too short, but not long enough to get into my eyes or look like I have a mullet.

The barber’s chair was so comfortable that I nearly took a nap in it. At times, it felt like the barber wasn’t even there, because he was working so silently. The room was a little cold because the air conditioner was on, but it wasn’t so bad. The barber was done in no time, and when I looked in the mirror, my hair was perfectly fine. If I had been a paying customer, I would have gotten my money’s worth. My friend was a little mad that he didn’t try to get a free haircut from Sports Clips.
