Planning a Trip to Alaska

Posted in Sport News  by admin
May 16th, 2016

I have a couple of weeks of vacation and a bunch of sick days that I need to take this year, so I have started to think about what I really want to do with the time. Of course I was thinking about a lot of things that I might do, but of course I have to think about money as well as time. My brother in law and decided that we should go up to Alaska. He and I were at Bass pro shops looking for a gun cover and we decided that maybe we could take the trip of a lifetime. The thing is that you want to make it practical. I would sort of love to drive up there, pulling my camper. Read the rest of this entry »

How Much Can You Predict Any Sport?

Posted in Sport News  by admin
August 17th, 2015

How much can you predict any sport? I got to thinking about this while I was in Las Vegas, Nevada on business a couple of weeks ago. Of course the place I stayed at was right beside one of those sports bookmakers. You could bet on just about any sport and I was sitting there wondering if there were any of the sports where you might plausibly hope to win most of the time. I was thinking that tennis predictions might be the best choice, but only so long as you have a dominant player on both sides of the draw. Of course I am referring to Serena Williams in woman’s tennis and Djokovic in men’s tennis. Obviously Serena is a far safer bet than any man is going to be, because she is a lot more dominant than any man is. Read the rest of this entry »

Whenever Rickie Fowler prepares for a golf tournament, such as the Players Championship 2016, a big part of his preparation is his golf wear. In fact, what he wears often attracts as much attention as his golf! So when Puma Golf announce his scripts for the tournament at TPC Sawgrass, fans of quality golf clothing around the world were watching avidly.

Puma Golf Shoes

The golf shoe has become so much more than simply wearing something to keep your feet dry and comfortable. Modern technology means that the best golf footwear is essential for a good golf swing, specifically developed for obtaining a good footing on the first tee. For Rickie, this means the Puma TitanTour Ignite golf shoes and for the Players Championship – Puma transformed this style to help Rickie Fowler “Play Loud”.

There’s no chance you can miss these new Puma golf shoes – available in the ‘glo pink’ and ‘safety yellow’ combination. These spectacular golf shoes are truly stand out footwear and offer an alternate colour for either foot, whilst both feature a shocking bright front half of the shoes combined with a black rear. Puma fans worldwide loved them, but many will now have a hard time finding them in the stores as these special edition TitanTour Ignite Tricks shoes have already sold out online.  With those shoes, Rickie will be wearing black cuffed trousers, otherwise known as the Puma Golf Jogger which will be released in June, as well as the D Vent Golf Shirt in black with a lighter grey collar.

Rickie Fowler Outfits

After the eye-catching shoes for Thursday, Rickie plans to go with something a little more subdued for the Friday.  His Puma TitanTour Ignite shoes for the day are a white and blue combination that coordinate perfectly with his golf shirt – a tailored fit Puma style which is in the Surf the Web colour option. To complete the look, Rickie Fowler will wear six pocket pants in white – a popular choice for 2016.

The Puma Surf the Web blue is prominent again for the Saturday outfit. The Key Stripe polo shirt has proven a hugely popular item with stylish golfers this season with its white base colour and stripes of blue, turquoise and lime green.  This fresh and clean looking shirt will be paired with blue trousers while the blue and white golf shoes will be retained from the previous day.

Pink Out Sunday – TPC Sawgrass

Sunday is a special day for a host of reasons. While it is of course the last day of the tournament, it is also a ‘Pink Out’ day for the Players Championship.  Last year, Rickie wore pink on the Sunday to show his support for the US-based breast cancer charity “Donna” in similar fashion to last year. For The Players Championship 2016, Rickie will be wearing a special pair of Puma Tricks golf shoes that blend his traditional Sunday orange with the signature pink colour from Thursday.  But don’t go rushing out to shops to try and grab a pair of these shoes – they are specially made for Rickie only!

Sunday will also see a sneak preview of the collection to come for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season.  The shirt that Rickie will be wearing comes from the forthcoming collection and will give Puma fans a glimpse of what the colours and styles will be like for the last season of this year.

Golf Tips That Can Enhance Your Game

Golf is one of the finest sports in the world. While its rules and movements are simple, the complexities and subtleties involved can keep an enthusiast occupied for a lifetime. Once bitten by the golf bug, a player is likely to remain ever-vigilant in the quest to improve his or her game. Here are a few tips that might help:

Don’t use a golf cart to go from one hole to another. Walk instead. Walking the course will also help you become more familiar with the grounds and help you with your shots. Walking is also a good way to warm up before and during play.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to be sure that you are relaxed. This is important because tension of the mind will lead to a more rigid body, which in turn leads to a less fluid golf swing. Learn to relax yourself before each hit.

A helpful tip when it comes to golf is to make sure that you follow your ball after you hit it. This is extremely important so that you do not waste time by looking for your ball. If you have trouble tracking your shots, you may ask somebody else in your party to assist you in locating your shots.

Golf is a matter of patience and focus. You really need to take your time in understanding where you are on the course, choosing your club and setting up your shot. Trying to rush through things will only result in a sloppy shot and higher scores. Keep yourself focused and block out others around you. Read the rest of this entry »
